Leave That Bandage Alone!
Your tattooist took the care to cover up your new tattoo for a very good reason – to keep air-born bacteria
from invading your wound. Yes, as pretty as your new tattoo is, it is still a wound.

After this time has elapsed you can you can remove the bandage (protective film), you will want to wash your tattoo, using lukewarm water and antibacterial soap to gently wash away any aftercare cream and plasma.

Do not use a face washer or anything abrasive.

Your hand is your best tool in this case. Then pat dry (do not rub) the area with a CLEAN towel or paper towel to get it
completely dry. Air the area for approximately 10-15 min and reapply a very thin layer of  tattoo aftercare balm and
rewrap with a good quality protective tattoo film.

Repeat this process every few hours for 3-4 days

to keep the skin soft. You must keep your tattoo clean; however, long showers or baths must be avoided for 2 weeks.

Prolonged soaking can and will loosen scabs if any have formed, or will soak through the soft tissue and cause your ink
to flow down the drain. This includes Swimming in the Ocean or a Pool, Spas, and Saunas.

Short showers are best, under ten minutes if possible.

Scabbing and Peeling: After a few days, you will notice some peeling and possibly a little scabbing. This is sometimes normal and no need to panic. You will also start to itch, just like sunburn when it begins to heal.
The advice here is, don’t pick, and don’t scratch! If it is peeling, put tattoo balm or a similar tattoo cream on it. lubriderm, aveeno, curel or an unscented natural lotion.

If it is scabbing, just leave it alone. Your tattoo is almost healed, and now is not the time to ruin it! DONT PICK!

Protection from the sun: After your tattoo is healed, from now on, you will always want to protect it from the sun’s
ultraviolet rays. These can fade and damage a brilliant tattoo very fast. Before spending a lot of time in excessive heat,
protect your tattoo with a minimum 30SPF sun block. This will keep your tattoo vibrant for many years, and it will
continue to be a source of great pride.

Infection: In the event you believe your tattoo has become infected, you should seek medical assistance ASAP, to receive corrective treatment.
